Doodle Note for Parent Night

Back to School Night (aka Open House) rolls around every September, kinda like taxes sneak up every April, only {hopefully} it's less painful! After the Introductions, Power Point Presentation, and Q&A session, I always ask parents to leave a little note for their children. In the past, it's typically been a Super Sticky 4x6 lined sticky note on each student's desk. I know, boring. Anyway, the kids love finding a note from their parents the next day, and at the end of the night I have a quick way to assess which parents attended. (Parents who don't make it to school will get a blank doodle note sent home to share with their child.)

This year, I decided to give the parents something a little more creative. I'm leaving a doodle note on each desk, with markers and colored pencils. Maybe they'll have some fun when they leave a little love for their cuties :)

How do you engage parents on Back-to-School Night?
