I just did. I learned to hyperlink an image in a post,
finally. I've been trying for a
very long time. Rachelle, at
What the Teacher Wants, was kind enough to tell me how to do it when I asked last September
. I tried. But somehow, there was a
missing link. Really. I wasn't doing
something right. Then, after noticing all of the amazing tutorials on
Blog Designs by Dani, I asked Dani. I thought maybe there was a different way to get it done. {I was a little
embarrassed that I couldn't follow Rachelle's simple and straightforward instructions successfully.} Same, simple instructions. Failure.
Back to Google. By no coincidence,
Blogger for Dummies was among the choices in my search. I checked it out. No luck. Then, I happened upon this little gem. {Wondering about the source?
Click the pic! }
It works-I did it! Small accomplishment to many, I am sure. But really
B.I.G. to me! So, thank you again Rachelle, Dani, and jmcaulif. {Of course, I
did go back to the comment that brought it all together for me. I am officially #8 of 14 people who found jmcaulif's answer helpful.}
I learned something else today.
All this time, I've been writing my posts in the
Edit HTML mode. {What?} When my google tipster jmcauliff, flashed the word COMPOSE in her advice, it was kind of a lightbulb moment!
A whole new world. The
missing link was Compose Mode. It was
right there, next to the
Edit HTML tab the whole time. The key to solving the hyperlink mystery
and to following the perfectly simple, straightforward directions I got in the first place. So now I know. Lesson learned.
Anyway, I thought I'd share my little triumph, not to
brag, but maybe, just maybe, because someone else out there may be trying to figure this out, too.
I haven't tried Windows Live Writer yet. I know many of you use it. What do you like better about it?

It's no wonder that you couldn't follow the first set of instructions for how to link a photo, because my guess is they were based on the way to do it in the old Blogger editor (which I still use but many have switched to the new Blogger editor). They're quite different. I'll miss the old one when they steal it away! ;-)
Thanks Mel, that makes me feel better...and a little less tech-challenged. :)
